The original slot had 3 reels and multiple combinations to win a prize. Symbols have to align or match for the player to win. Winning combinations may include symbols like diamonds, cherries, bars, bells and shamrocks. There are many themed games available now that can include just about any image. In sweepstakes gaming centers, reel games are very popular and account for as much as 85% of the total revenue. Sweepstakes reels can have 3 reels or more and simulate the actions of slots.

Keno Games

Depending on the region you are from, Keno is considered one of the Most popular games around. Keno is based on a Bingo theme. The history of the game originated in China. Legendhas it that the invention of the game saved an ancient city in time of war, and its widespread popularity helped raise funds to build the Great Wall of China.  The first official documentation of the Chinese lottery (baige piao) is documented in 1847 when the Portuguese Government of Macao decided to grant licenses to lottery operators. The Chinese played the game using sheets printed with Chinese characters, often the first 80 characters of the Thousand Character Classic.

A conventional keno game uses a circular glass enclosure called a “bubble” containing 80 balls which determines the ball draw result. Each ball has a unique number and is mixed by a blower that pushes air into the enclosure. The balls are then randomly selected through a push lever, similar to Bingo. The player wins by matching and grouping pre-selected numbers and patterns. Sweepstakes style Keno uses similar features through the computer sweepstakes machines. Sweepstakes games are known to use a variety of pictograms and themes that make the game interactive and exciting to play.

Card Games

Card games have been around since the 9th Century during the Tang dynasty in China, known as the “leaf game”. It is said that poker may have had its foundation from China. However, there is not one universally accepted theory on the true birth of Poker, but it is most commonly believed that it was derived from the Persian game of As Nas. Never heard of it? Well As Nas was played using 25 cards including 5 different suits.

Nowadays, the best-known deck internationally is the French-suited deck with English styling. This deck contains 4 × 13 = 52 unique cards with 4 different suits. The French suits appeared around 1480 and were cheaper to print. In France, they mostly replaced the earlier Latin suits swords, clubs, cups and coins. The most popular card games known today are poker and blackjack. Software developers have found a way to incorporate these types of games into several of the sweepstakes gaming themes. This has proven to add to the excitement of any sweepstakes venue.
